As a response to the Covid-19 outbreak, a three month payment freeze for mortgage holders impacted by the Covid-19 is to be put in place by our main banks.

The maximum that can be spent on contactless cards is to be raised to €50.

An expansion for the loan guarantee scheme for small firms to a fund of €50m is also set to be announced today after the banks meet Finance Minister Paschal.

The Banks together with the minister are to announce a deferral of repossession legal actions for three months. It will be the first time banks have agreed an industry-wide payment holiday.
